Hiking

Among vineyards...

Almost no other region in Southern Styria offers the diversity of the South Styrian Wine Road. A relaxed wine walk lets you take in the fantastic views and unspoilt natural environment of the area. But that's not all: there are also a huge range of different walks leading through various landscapes, from floodplains and moorland to vineyards and alpine meadows.

The main highlights are the Altenbachklamm and the Heiligengeistklamm gorges, which offer views into neighbouring Slovenia from the Sveti Duh lookout point. The wide range of places to stop off for refreshments mean that you can leave your rucksack at home. After soaking up the rich atmosphere of the local countryside, it's always good to settle down on a panoramic terrace in front of one of the many rustic Buschenschank or restaurants to enjoy a warm welcome, the unique ambience and delicious food and drink. A wine walk is an experience you will always remember!
