On the South Styrian Wine Road feasts are celebrated and traditions are continued throughout the year.
There are a huge range of entertaining events, from the vintage presentations of the new wine at the beginning of the year and the WelschLauf wine marathon to the St. James’ Day tasting walk. Then there is the Volksfest folk festival, where you can dance your heart out and listen to international music, and the “Tafel an der Weinstraße” culinary festival, where you can eat, drink and be merry. In autumn, the region is in thrall to the hops and wine harvest festivals, before the Junker wine festival heralds the start of the calmer winter season. Christmas is a time for reflection: the numerous Christmas markets display handicrafts and invite visitors to enjoy mulled wine, punch and Christmas biscuits.
Every season has its charm and every season is enchanting in its own way.
